Cruises from Miami
One of the most visited cities in North America, Miami offers great beaches, excellent nightlife and many opportunities for sightseeing. Because of its proximity to the Caribbean, Miami is also a favorite cruise port, with several cruise lines operating entertaining vacation packages, ranging in length from 5-11 nights.
Norwegian Cruise Line operates the longest of these trips, an 11 night vacation aboard the vessel Norwegian Dawn that takes passengers from Miami to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, Philipsburg, St. Maarten, and the islands of Antigua and Barbados.
Shorter Miami cruises operated by Carnival Cruise Lines sail to the Bahamas, with the shortest trip lasting 3 nights. Carnival also offers the 5 night Western Caribbean cruise that departs Miami, travels to Ocho Rios, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands and returns to Miami. There are also trips that drop anchor in Montego Bay, Jamaica and Key West, Florida.

Cruises from Fort Lauderdale
Just north of Miami, Fort Lauderdale is the busiest cruise port in the region and offers a number of fantastic vacation itineraries. Holland America, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean International all have ships departing from the modern cruise terminal in Fort Lauderdale.
Most of these cruise packages involve a number of stops in the Caribbean resort towns. For example, the Royal Caribbean cruise to the southern part of the Caribbean stops at Saint Lucia Island and Bridgetown on Barbados, the historical community of Fort-De-France on Martinique, St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands and Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.
There are also Fort Lauderdale cruises of 24 days in length, allowing passengers to relax for over three weeks while visiting such vacation spots as Devil's Island, Guyana, the Amazon River cities of Santarem and Manaus in Brazil, and the Aruba Island.
